It provides a common approach to managing any type of risk and is not industry or sector specific. This standard provides guidelines on managing risk which are based on the principles, framework and process. Managing risk is iterative and assists the organizations in setting strategy, achieving objectives and making informed decisions. It improves performance, encourages innovation and supports the achievement of objectives. Creating a structure and effective risk management system will support the organizations in setting strategy and making informed decision.
Objectives:
- To provide guidance on aspects of the principles, risk management framework and risk assessment process that are described in ISO 31000 for any organizations that wish to implement a structure Risk Management System.
- A structured approach for organizations to transition their Risk Management System in order to be consistent with ISO 31000 guidelines.
