This standard specifies requirements and guidance for use for an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance, fulfilment to legal and other requirements and achievement of OH&S objectives. This international standard will help to achieve the intended outcomes of an OH&S Management System as described, but it does not cover product safety and environmental impacts beyond the risks to workers and other interested parties.
